Screen Cap Proves MGS5 for 360

We’ve all heard from other sites, and those able to read Japan’s latest issue of Famitsu magazine, that Kojima was hinting at releasing some details about his next project, only days away, at E3. A few of us were chatting last night about this, and about the teaser site that now shows Big Boss briefly during a lightning strike and decided to do a thorough investigation on this “hype-train”. While we were chatting, some of us decided to record the site counter and animation, at 60 FPS, to make sure nobody missed anything. To our amazement, after analyzing the recording, frame by frame, for about six or seven minutes – we found something! What can barely be seen in standard resolution, looks a lot like an xbox logo when zoomed in 300%. Could this be the subliminal frame some of us have been looking for? You decide!

NBA 2K10 coming out for Wii

NBA 2K Pic

Story courtesy of Gamespot.com:

As part of a post-earnings conference call yesterday, Take-Two’s Ben Feder addressed the publisher’s sports business, which has struggled to achieve profitability in recent years. Notably, Feder said that it plans to expand the reach of its NBA basketball games, revealing that NBA 2K10 will arrive on the Wii when it ships on multiple platforms this fall.

“All of our sports products need to be multiplatform,” Feder said. “As we said over and over again on these calls, Nintendo was a terrific and important partner for Take-Two, and we expect that to continue over time, and especially in our sports business.”

No official release date has been given yet, other than the game is slated for release this fall(let’s hope the motion controls don’t suck).

More details on this game coming soon.

No More Heroes 2 Details!

No More heroes Logo

Thatvideogameblog.com released an article today explaining the story details of No More Heroes:
Desperate Struggle for Wii( sequel to No More Heroes for the Wii) that were unveiled in the latest issue of the Japanese Videogame Magazine Famitsu. Here is the story in nutshell. It appears it has been three years since the first game and Santa Destroy has been changed into a large city thanks to some corporations moving in. Travis Touchdown is laying back, but not for long as Sylvia returns to his life with more people to kill and a few issues with his friend Bishop need to be resolved. Some new characters will also be revealed in this game, but no details as to who they are have not yet been revealed.

Changes in gameplay will include a more in-depth battle system, Dual wielding swords, etc. This game will also featured updated graphics as well. Other than that, no other details about the game have been revealed as of yet, but Famitsu will be releasing a new trailer for the game on May 30th. No release date or ESRP have been revealed at this moment and time.

Nintendo developing Wii Fit Plus, and more!

Wii fit Plus Pic

Got some more Pre E3 2009 news for you. According to the site siliconera.com, a couple of announcements that Nintendo plans to make at this years E3, as far as game releases go, are a sequel to Wii Fit (Wii Fit Plus), and another title called Art Academy (which is rumored to be like a Mario Paint Game for the Wii).

No specific details about these games have been released yet, but to be honest with you, Nintendo needs to do better than this with their announcements about what games are going to be revealed at E3, seeing as how last years announcements (Wii Music, Animal Crossing, Wiispeak) were less than stellar, my expectations for this years are low, yet hopeful at best.

HVS announces New Game for Wii

High Voltage Software (makers of The Conduit and Madworld) have announced today that they are developing another FPS for the Wii called The Grinder. So far, nothing is really known about the story yet, other than you are in a world where vampires, zombies, and werewolves are all a part of everyday life, and a group of people are sent out to destroy all of them in order to save the world.

So far, the only details known about the features in the game are that it will include 4-player online play, Wii Motion Plus Support, and Wiispeak support as well. It honestly feels like a Wii version of Left 4 Dead, but after how much fun I had with that game (which was alot) I can see the potential that this game would have to be just as successful. No release date, other than TBA 2010 has been given yet, no price has been revealed either.

Here are a few screenshots of the game that I found on IGN.com, Enjoy!

PC Review: Plants Vs. Zombies

What do you do when zombies are creeping up your front lawn looking for dinner? You plant flowers – lots and lots of flowers.

Developers: PopCap Games
Publishers: PopCap Games
Genre: 2D Strategy
Rating: E
Price: $19.99

Pop cap games can unofficially crown themselves the “kings of casual” with the release of their latest title – Plants VS Zombies; a tower defense game with a ton of twists, that pits your home against some of the cutest zombies you could ever imagine.  Now, I’m not a “big” casual game fan, so I’ll be honest –  I was, initially, a tad bored playing PvZ, but as my playtime with the title increased the amount of fun I had playing Plants VS Zombies completely overwhelmed me.  I, now, understand 100% why this game is amazingly addictive, fun, and strategic.

Plants VS Zombies starts off light and slow, throwing a few zombies your way while allowing comfort when learning the basics of defending your lawn.   PopCap perfectly paces the game, introducing the player to new plants level by level; and as your stockpile of plants grow, it’s harder and harder to decide which plants you will be using in each level.  Strategic decisions must be made, more and more, in later stages since you are limited to how many plants you can choose to use in each level to defend the increasing zombie count and variation; and as many plant varients their are zombies equally.

The amount of creative detail and design, in each plant and zombie, is top-notch, funny, and adorable; one of a kind in the Tower Defense genre.  Some zombies walk, some run, some jump, and some defend themselves with road-cone helmets; all of them will leave you with a smile on your face – even if they’re eating your sunflowers.

Plants VS Zombies will consume a ton of your time, and not just with it’s adventure mode.  There are fun mini-games like whack-a-zombie and zombie bowling to play, as well as well-designed puzzle scenarios to conquer.  PopCap completely justifies [its] pricetag; a game of this calibure in design deserves every penny their asking.

2

The Tower Defense genre fans have one hell of a title here; beautifully-cute graphics, imaginative design, constant gameplay curveballs, and hours upon hours of strategic plant placing and zombie toasting will leave your heart content without a minute of boredom. If you’ve never played a “TD” game; this is the one you want to be playing. (A)
