What are you up to Lionhead Studios? Over the past few days I’ve read some twitter feeds from Lionhead that simply had their web site address posted. So it was enough to make me click, only to be greeted with a splash page showing a picture of Che Guevara, a quote of his, and then a call to action for either selecting thumbs up or down.
Pretty much each day has brought us a new splash page with a new historic figure and quote from them, as well as that simple call to action again for the thumbs up or down. The thumbs up takes you to a certain look of their main page and the down takes you to a totally different look and that is pretty much as far as this all goes.
Each splash image also contained a light number and appears to have marked a count down of sorts. We have finally hit the last image now and it appears that this speculation marks some news to be revealed from Lionhead Studios out at the 2009 Gamecon Convention in Cologne, Germany. Here are the figures and their quotes as they were revealed and what appears to be the final figure now.
Che Guevara – “At the risk of seeming ridiculous, Let me say that the true revolutionary is guided by a great feeling of love.”
Maximillien Robespierre – “Terror is only justice: prompt, severe and inflexible; it is then an emanation of virtue; is it a less distinct principle than a natural consequence of the general principle of democracy, applied to the most pressing wants of the country.”
Abraham Lincoln – “Be not deceived. Revolutions do not go backward.”
Aristotle – “He who is to be a good ruler, must have first been ruled.”
Emma Goldman – “If I can’t dance, I don’t want to be in your revolution.”
Joan of Arc – “I am not afraid…I was born to do this.”
Winston Churchill – “History will be kind to me for I intend to write it”
Pretty interesting group of Historical figures if you ask me, now we just need to wait an learn what they will announce soon. I wonder if we are looking at some game that will span a number of years and involve each of these historical figures. Perhaps we’ll even have something with Project Natal and a chance to be emeresed into this game and interact with these figures.
I’m hoping this will be something totally new and different from the Fable line of games. I’m really not sure how or why they would select this cast of figures to reveal something about Fable. What ever it will be, I think we are just hours away from learning now.

I went on the Lionhead Studios website this morning. When I logged in I was greeted with a brand new front page. Looks like the big news was a trailer that was released of Fable 3! I put Lionhead Studios URL in the website column for this comment. Everyone should go take a look! However, you will need Windows Media Player 11 or better. Also, it’s viewable under the “Spotlight” selection on X-Box 360, you just need to scroll over to the right 7 times and you’ll see the exclusive trailer. Enjoy.
Well I hoped for something differnt an should have known. I think its been mentioned that they plan for at least five Fable games in the series. So I guess we’ll have at least two more after Fable III hits.
