If Pandemic Studio’s The Saboteur doesn’t win my “Favorite Art Design of 2009″ award, I’ll be surprised. This stylized, open-world action/adventure title, on all front, looks to be a “stand-out” to the rest of its genre’s games.
Saboteur is set in 1940′s Nazi-occupied France, and revolves around the story of Sean Devlin, a bad-*** Irish racing mechanic looking to revolt against the Nazi-army ruining the world around him.
As you successfully complete missions of sabotage against the Nazis, the world around Sean will go from a dark and oppressed black and white, to a vibrant colorful one, signifying the mood and hope of the citizens occupying that region. I’m assuming Pandemic’s work on Mercenaries 2 will show-through into The Saboteur’s open-world structure and gun-play; which is not a bad thing.
Scheduled to release in the first week of December, 2009, The Saboteur should give fans of open-world action games a unique, and inspired, “rhomp” to close out the end of the year on.
This game is going to be really sweet I think. I think its the B&W parts that have sold me on this game for sure and seeing color return as you progress through the game thats awesome.
