Rejected Gamer

Review: Epic Mickey

Sometimes writing a review can be a very difficult thing to do, especially in a situation such as this. What I mean by that is when a game combines a multitude of genres together in such a unique and creative way, it becomes hard to define exactly what it was that you just played. Creating an experience that actually lives up to the hype is a rare thing to see in this industry nowadays, but the team over at Junction Point has accomplished this feat and then some. Mickey Mouse is a hero in a different way this time around, but that’s not a bad thing at all. (more…)

Nintendo Download of the Week: 12/27 Edition

Happy Holidays everybody, hope you had fun with friends and family, stuffed up on lots of food, and received lots of presents. Enough of this touchy feely stuff, it’s time to get down to business and talk about games. After taking a look at what’s on offer here, picking a favorite won’t be that hard to do. Anyways here it is, my pick for Nintendo Download of the Week for December 27th, 2010. (more…)

Nintendo Download of the Week: 12/20 Edition

After taking a look at this weeks offerings, picking a favorite was pretty easy to do. Sure, an instant classic has hit the Virtual Console, but I did get a chance to check out this other game at Pax East 2010, and it was alot of fun. Be warned though, the concept is incredibly strange, and if you’re not into disco music, or taking a trip back to the 70′s, then my choice might not fit your particular tastes. Either way, here it is, my pick for Nintendo Download of the Week for December 20th, 2010. (more…)

Nintendo Download of the Week: 12/13 Edition

After the strong outing last time, Nintendo download have now made their way back to earth. This week’s releases aren’t neccessarily bad or anything, there’s just nothing on offer here that catches my eye as a must play title. As always, something out of this pile of mediocrity has to be worth checking out. So here it is, my pick for Nintendo Download of the Week for December 13th, 2010. (more…)

Nintendo Download of the Week: 12/6 Edition

Christmas must be coming early, because the amount of downloads available this time around is simply overwhelming. Three new WiiWare games, a demo of one of those, two Virtual Console releases, and three new DSiWare downloads give new meaning to the term “it’s the most wonderful time of the year”. Since I can’t pick everything as my favorite, only one title will rise up above the rest. So here it is, my pick for Nintendo Download of the Week for December 6th, 2010. (more…)

Review: Splatterhouse

After losing in the second round of a Madden tournament at my local rental store, one of the workers there said I could either have a free movie or half price on a video game rental. As I started to make my way towards the Game Room, something caught my eye. There it was, an updated remake of a classic horror franchise, Splatterhouse. Without hesitation, my trembling fingers picked up the game, rushed it over to the counter, and then I went home excited about how much fun this was going to be. Looking back on this decision, and after finishing this frustrating experience, maybe it would have been a better choice to get the movie instead. (more…)

Review: Nail’d

What are the 2 most important elements of any arcade-racer? My answer: Speed and track design. Techland may not have developed a game that takes the arcade-racer to new-heights, but they sure Nail’d the important parts. Nail’d tosses realistic-physics out the window for vertigo-inducing, full-throttle, ATV/MX insanity. None of what you see while racing through the 14 in-game tracks will ever be witnessed by seeing-eyes as long as you live, but this is why we started playing games in the first place, right?
