Nintendo Download of the Week: 2/14 Edition

Apparently the holiday in which we show love for our significant others has finally arrived. Whether you have someone in your life or not, one thing must be known, this weeks offering is lacking in all the wrong places. Nintendo Download of the Week: 2/7 Edition

After watching an exciting game like the Super Bowl, expecting a great offering of new downloadable titles isn’t too much to ask, or is it? I have to admit that it gets harder to pick a favorite week after week because shovelware seems to be the name of the game every time. Just because one person feels this way doesn’t mean that there isn’t something in here that might be worth checking out. Nintendo Download of the Week: 1/31 Edition

When I think of the downloadable offerings this time around, only one word comes to mind, boring. With the pending release of the 3DS being just around the corner, it seems like these developers are not even trying anymore. Apparently, services you can call 1-900 numbers for (and no it’s nothing dirty) can qualify themselves as games. Nintendo Download of the Week: 1/24 Edition

This is the first time in quite awhile where picking a favorite download is not so easy. Two titles in particular look equally interesting, but in the end I had to go with the one that has the possibility of being worth it in the long run. If names of games alone could win my favorite pick every time, one of these would take the cake without question. Let’s be clear about something though, an interesting concept means more than anything else when picking out a favorite. There isn’t really too much to get excited about with this latest installment of Nintendo downloads. An interesting looking demo, and more additions to the VC might just save it from being a complete disaster. No matter how bad things get, I’m sure there is something in this mess of shovelware that might be worth checking out. Nintendo Download of the Week: 12/20 Edition

After taking a look at this weeks offerings, picking a favorite was pretty easy to do. Sure, an instant classic has hit the Virtual Console, but I did get a chance to check out this other game at Pax East 2010, and it was alot of fun. Be warned though, the concept is incredibly strange, and if you’re not into disco music, or taking a trip back to the 70′s, then my choice might not fit your particular tastes. After the strong outing last time, Nintendo download have now made their way back to earth. This week’s releases aren’t neccessarily bad or anything, there’s just nothing on offer here that catches my eye as a must play title. Nintendo Download of the Week: 12/6 Edition

Christmas must be coming early, because the amount of downloads available this time around is simply overwhelming. Three new WiiWare games, a demo of one of those, two Virtual Console releases, and three new DSiWare downloads give new meaning to the term “it’s the most wonderful time of the year”. Now it is time to get back to some business, because there is alot going on in the world of Nintendo, as far as downloads go anyway. Nintendo Download of the Week: 11/22 Edition

The only thing that saved this installment of Nintendo downloads from being a total disaster was the addition of demos for WiiWare, otherwise, this is just another typical week of shovelware as usual. At least the Virtual Console is getting something new, but honestly, it’s something I’ve never heard of. Guess man’s best friend is the theme for this iteration of Nintendo downloads. Things are getting so lazy that everyday life activities, such as playing fetch with your dog, have somehow managed to become games. Nintendo Download of the Week: 11/8 Edition

After taking a look at what’s on offer this time around, I thought my decision was going to be a no brainer, but now i’m not so sure. Just because something looks good on the surface doesn’t mean that it will be prove to be a worthwhile experience in the long run.
