Gaming Night 2/11

It is time for another Rejected Gamer gaming night. It will take place this Friday at 10pm Eastern time on Xbox Live. Send me a message on there, to my gamertag Mr B4 if you are interested in joining. You can also leave a comment here to let me know if you want to be a part of it or not.

In an effort to change things up a little bit, there will be no voting this time around. The game we will be playing is the X-Men Arcade for the XBLA. I will be hosting one room for the game, and thats about it. If there is a need for more than one room, and if another site member is available, we will host two lobbies for the event. Now all I need you to do is to show up at the scheduled time in order to join in on the fun. Hope to see you all on Friday.

Nintendo Download of the Week: 2/7 Edition

After watching an exciting game like the Super Bowl, expecting a great offering of new downloadable titles isn’t too much to ask, or is it? I have to admit that it gets harder to pick a favorite week after week because shovelware seems to be the name of the game every time. Just because one person feels this way doesn’t mean that there isn’t something in here that might be worth checking out. Anyways here it is, my pick for Nintendo Download of the Week for February 7th, 2011. (more…)

The Calm before the Storm

With the conclusion of the popular series Gears of War just around the corner, the people over at Epic games are now hard at work on a new FPS experience entitled Bulletstorm. On paper, everything looks exactly like the companies previous entry into the video game world, but after playing the demo on Xbox Live, I am happy to tell you that this is something completely unique and extremely fun in its own right. If you like slow motion kills, launching your opponent 50 feet into the air, or shooting some bullets into aliens butts for points, this will satisfy all of those little cravings and then some. Nintendo Download of the Week: 1/31 Edition

When I think of the downloadable offerings this time around, only one word comes to mind, boring. With the pending release of the 3DS being just around the corner, it seems like these developers are not even trying anymore. Apparently, services you can call 1-900 numbers for (and no it’s nothing dirty) can qualify themselves as games. There is still a gem in here somewhere, guess we will just have to dig real deep in order to find it. Here it is, my pic for Nintendo Download of the Week for January 31st, 2011. (more…)

Review: Astroslugs

I have a confession to make, creative thinking is not exactly my strong suit. This is ironic because one of my favorite genres in the video game world is the puzzle genre. Stepping outside of a comfort zone, and actually using ones brain has become a thing of the past nowadays. In a world filled with mindless shooters and beat’ em ups, it’s nice a change of pace when something like Astroslugs comes along. While it may not be that complicated to play, the level of challenge on offer here will have you second guessing yourself every step of the way. (more…)

Bit Barons Interview

What’s up readers, I am joined here today by Alexander Zacherl, Managing Director of the indie game development company Bit Barons. We are going to be discussing their first creation, a grid like puzzle game named Astroslugs, which will be available tomorrow for both PC and Mac. Let’s not waste any more time and get on with it shall we? (more…)

Nintendo Download of the Week: 1/24 Edition

This is the first time in quite awhile where picking a favorite download is not so easy. Two titles in particular look equally interesting, but in the end I had to go with the one that has the possibility of being worth it in the long run. Being a sports related game made my decision a little bit easier, but not by much. Either way here it is, my pick for Nintendo Download of the Week for January 24th,2011. (more…)

3DS gets a release date

Those looking to experience the latest in 3D handheld technology will not have to wait much longer. The Nintendo 3DS is set to hit store shelves in North America on March 27, and in Europe on March 25th of this year. It will be priced at $249.99, and will include a plethora of features that would take a long time to go over in just one article. Let’s take a look at some of the features included that I think really stood out from the others instead. (more…)

Nintendo Download of the Week: 1/17 Edition

If names of games alone could win my favorite pick every time, one of these would take the cake without question. Let’s be clear about something though, an interesting concept means more than anything else when picking out a favorite. That being said, one game in particular did grab my attention, but it may not be the one you expect. Here it is, my pick for Nintendo Download of the Week for January 17th, 2011. (more…)
